WE LOVE Erasmus+

A group of 8 people from our school had the privilege to take part in the project "Cultural Mosaics," which is part of Erasmus+ and was made possible by Young Europe Society (Y.E.S.). It was prepared and organized by two great men, the power duo of Tudor and Viktor, who made it an experience of a lifetime and something that changed us for good.

We shared a beautiful place in Transylvania called Izvoare with people from six other countries: Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Hungary, and of course, were us, the Czech team. At first, we were connected by our similar cultural heritage, but as the ten days went by, we formed personal connections that, as we hope, will last a lifetime.

The project's theme was "Cultural Mosaics," which meant sharing pieces of our cultures and creating one big picture that we are all a part of. We did this mostly through art, such as theater plays, movies, or drawing our national symbols on a flipchart. A very wise man told me that the activities we did, these methods of teaching, aren’t new, but they tend to get lost in these fast, modern times full of technology. Yet sometimes, all you need is your voice, a marker, and a flipchart – and you can even do without the marker and flipchart.

We had the chance to share our culture and get a taste of others during the intercultural nights, overcome some basic stereotypes, laugh about them later during coffee breaks and evening activities, and learn in ways different from school during the workshops. We started as teammates, became friends, and ended up as brothers.

We would recommend attending one of these projects to everyone. It can change your outlook on many aspects of life, or at least it will be a pleasant experience. "Cultural Mosaics" was a game-changer for us, and if we could, we would still be in Izvoare with Tudor, Viktor, and all the others.

We send a huge thank you to the organization, best regards to our colleagues and much love to our friends.
